Self-Care Inspiration: 7 Ideas

What’s Inspiring Me Right Now

Since helping people take better care of themselves is at the core of what I do, I thought I’d share what’s currently inspiring me in the hope that these ideas inspire you.

Being in Nature

I spent the weekend visiting a friend on Block Island. It’s such a magical place and it felt like the last hurrah of summer. It was still warm enough to swim, with a hint of fall crispness at night. (Growing up in sunny Florida, I’m a wimp when it comes to cold water.) Walking on the beach and sitting on the sand watching the waves roll in is one of my all-time favorite things to do.

Getting a Session

I tried a janzu aqua therapy session in the big Salt Pond on Block Island. It felt deeply healing and definitely pushed me outside my comfort zone.

Exercise

I took my first Barre class. (It connects me back to my ballet roots, and it’s a good, intense workout. Yes, I’m sore!)

Learning Something New

I’ve been studying Tarot for the past few months as a way to connect to my intuition. I love the morning ritual of drawing a couple cards for inspiration for the day ahead. I just bought this gorgeous new deck.

Reading

I just bought Gaby Bernstein’s newest book, The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith. I love her practical, simple, heart-centered tips and techniques to release blocks and help you find happiness and a clear sense of purpose.

Meditation

I’ve been using the free app The Insight Timer during my morning meditation. It has a lot of features I haven’t checked out yet (guided meditations, different saved settings, etc.) but in addition to the beautiful chime at the conclusion of my practice, it shows you how many people were meditating around the world at the same time. 3,500 other people meditating along with me? Inspiring!

Reiki

Giving myself daily Reiki each morning is the key component and foundation of my self care routine Learning Reiki is such an easy way to take better care of yourself, help you start meditating more regularly, and better deal with stress.

Do something inspiring this weekend! Sending you much love…
